What is Ganit Mela?

A Ganit Mela is a meeting place of all Mathematics Lovers where one can enjoy the beauty of Mathematics by attending and participating in various lectures, workshops and competitions viz., Mathematics Races, Mathematics Quizzes, Sudoku, Mathematics Model Competitions and Exhibitions, Poster Drawing, etc.

Aim of the Event: To popularise Mathematics among students and to increase their quality of Mathematics Learning.

How can one participate in this Event?

Anyone can participate in this event. Students can participant in their respective class categories. Students can choose their class as on 1 January, 2023. Participants may participate in this event by himself/herself or under the banner of a TEAM. Every branch of Assam Academy of Mathematics can participate as a team. Every exam centre of Assam Mathematics Olympiad, 2022, and Ganit Utkarsha Xadhan Pariksha, 2022 can participate in this event as a team. The other educational institutes of the state can participate under the banner of a Mathematics Club. If there is no Mathematics club in the institution, then they can form a club by itself or as a group of institutions.

Interested students may participate individually but all are advised to participate in this event under a team, if possible.

Registration of teams/individuals: 20 March, 2023 – 24 April, 2023.

N.B.:

1. Minimum no. of participants for each team (including two guide teacher) = 15

2. Maximum no. of participants for each team (including two guide teacher) = 25

3. Teams having less than 15 candidates can participate in the program, but such teams will not be eligible for the Best Team award.

4. In the class vi-viii category, a student can participate only in a single event among the events Mathematics Race, Sudoku, Mathematics Quiz, Model Competitions and exhibitions.

5. In the class ix-xii category, a student can participate only in a single event among the events Mathematics Race, Sudoku, Model Competitions and exhibitions.

6. Send the soft copies of Posters and Cover Page in jpeg/jpg format to the above mentioned email id or wapp number on or before 5 April, 2023. If possible, please send the hard copies to Mrs. Moniporna Gogoi Bhardwaj, Assistant Teacher, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Golaghat, 785610 on or before 5 May, 2023. Please note that the best cover page will be used as a cover page of our annual magazine ‘Ganit Utkarsha, 3^rd edition and some selected posters and cover page will be exhibited in our art gallery for both the days of the event and will also be published in various social media or in newspapers.
